Insurance Protection Coverage commences from the time the goods leave the shipper and/or supplier's place of business and continues in force during the ordinary and customary course of transit to the destination. Insurance remains in force for fifteen (15) days after vessel discharge or upon delivery, whichever occurs first. Delivery is understood to be when the consignee, receiver, or anyone acting on behalf of the consignee takes possession of the goods. Proper packaging is a condition of cargo insurance. Concealed damage must be reported within three (3) business days of delivery. Shortages must be reported within one (1) calendar day of delivery. There is no deductible. There are guidelines, conditions, exclusions, and exceptions items that apply, please contact Deluxe for additional information. To ensure no delays in the processing of your claim, please provide relevant information to support your loss. You may file your claim online: https://sevenseasins.com/claims/. Damaged goods must be retained for presentation at time of settlement. In the event you wish to decline the cargo coverage, please notify Deluxe Freight in writing prior to date of export. If you decline insurance, please be advised that as per the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, ocean carriers have a liability of $500 per customary shipping unit. A premium reflecting the cost of marine cargo insurance will be prominently displayed on the face of the bill of lading.
